The first step to achieving this is to really believe in the power of the trick.  As a magician, you will practise to perfect your art, but if you don’t think a trick is worth the investment of time, there is no point I learning it.  While the trick is just the means by which a magician interacts with his audience, he really has to believe the story he is communicating.  Good magicians are able to command large crowds to believe what he is doing is real.  This is one of the reasons that Street Magic is becoming so popular.

The casual, up front and personal approach to street magic makes it more interactive and the ability to command the attention of people in a busy street is more fine tuned.  People appreciate that this is an art and the fact that they are that close to the action makes it appear there is less room for misdirection and less chance they can be sidetracked.  This is true, but the best street magicians don’t appear to have any problems with that.

No matter what type of magic you choose to learn, there is a lot of work ahead of you to perfect your trade, but in the end, the ability to perform dead that few others in the world can do is the reward of super-heros.
